Szense: Szense - CD (2009)

On 1 and 2 September 2005, four musicians gathered in the Klaverland studio. Their goal? Improvisation. While each has it's own distinctive musical handwriting and stylistic baggage, there were no rules, no restrictions of genre or sound, just four open minds acting and reacting, dominantly clashing as well as harmonically supporting, taking sharp corners leading from post rock extravaganza to glitchy jazz, shaping sounds in time. The concept? Push record and see what happens...

Strange Attractor: Mettle - CD (2008, 2010)

Strange Attractor invited some legendary vocalists to record certain songs: David J (Bauhaus) laments the decline of 'sleaze', Winston Tong (Tuxedomoon) speaks his translation of a text by Charles Baudelaire, Graham Lewis (Wire) delivers another one of his enigmatic lyrics, while Richard Sinclair (Hatfield & the North) and Peter Christopherson (Coil) both add some abstract choirs. Marie-Claudine (Sonar Lodge) gives the CD her elegant jazzy touch - and it all flows together into one solid mood.

Strange Attractor: Everything is Closer - CD (2006, 2010)

On their debut CD "Everything Is Closer", STRANGE ATTRACTOR grazes the edges of jazz, ambient and soulful electronica, combining NIELS VAN HOORN’s unique approach to bass clarinet and impressive arsenal of saxophones and other acoustic and electronic wind instruments and effects with the arranging and production skills of RICHARD VAN KRUYSDIJK. Broken beat lovers will appreciate the versatile rhythmic drive, sometimes complex, but always dedicated to the groove, whereas ambient fans are treated to some lush textures, delicately woven by electronica and a wide range of (manipulated) brass and wood wind instruments.

Strange Attractor: Rorschach I - LP (2004)

Touching the edges of jazz, ambient and electronica, STRANGE ATTRACTOR's debut LP is a high spirited exercise in associative music-making. Rorschach gives insight in how tracks evolve through different approach of sound, while retaining a constant emotional depth and consistent, intense undercurrent.

De Klaverland Klompen Voetbal Club - CD (2002)

De Klaverland Kloempen Voetbal Club was assembled by Mark Spybey from hours of recordings made in the studio and on location in the nature reserve of Klaverland, where Niels has lived for over 25 years. The recording is an homage to both the playing of Niels, his love of jazz, the blues and the landscape within which it was created. Sounds were obtained from diverse sources: river boats, mice scampering in the roof of the studio, klaxon horns from a neighboring shipyard and the sound of a generator. They were treated much in the same way as the wind instruments, processed, sampled and edited using a conceptual framework devised by the pair. The release comes with annotated notes, written by a variety of collaborators, telling the story of how this CD was made.
